September 2017: Andrew Feola was awarded VA Career Development Award, level 2, from Rehab R&D Service. His project is titled “The Effect of Estrogen Deficiencies on Vision Loss in Glaucoma”. This is a 5 year independent award that supports his salary and necessary lab supplies. Congrats, Andrew!
September 2017: Erica Landis was awarded a travel grant to attend the International Myopia Conference in Birmingham, UK. She will present her work on “Influence of environmental lighting and lens defocus on dopamine signaling in the mouse retina”.
May 2017: Victoria Yang made a big splash at her first ARVO. She received a travel award to attend the national meeting and she presented her work, “Recovery from amblyopia enhanced by daily stimulation during development” as a paper presentation.
March 2017: Dr. Pardue was inducted as a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).
October 2016: Rachael Allen was awarded VA Career Development Award, level 1, from Rehab R&D Service. Her project is titled “Neuroprotective Strategies for Retinopathy and Cognition in Diabetes”. This is a 2 year award that pays her entire salary and allows her to begin her career as an independent scienitist! Way to go, Rachael!
